New Exfolimate, Your Best Mate for Silky Smooth Skin

The Exfolimate‘s tagline claims that it’s “your best mate for silky, smooth skin” and thus opens up by promising you a great exfoliation experience. I wanted to see if it lived up to its claims, so I have been putting it to the test and am ready to share my personal experience and thoughts with you.
The first thing to be clear about is that this is not a shaver, despite its appearance! It is meant to be used prior to any shaving you plan on doing. (Which makes sense considering one of its claims is that it can help reduce ingrown hairs!) The Exfolimate’s “blade” is not sharp enough that it will cut you while being used nor will it remove any body hair. It is simply a tool that has a “patented, laser-formed edge with micro grooves” which–combined with warm water from your bath or shower–helps clear your pores, smooth away dead skin cells, and ‘stimulate’ the skin. The Exfolimate sells for $29.99 and can be purchased from Beauty Hub here. You don’t need to use any special cleansers with it–in the instructions it advises that you can exfoliate simply with water. This makes it a good alternative for those who experience irritation with certain scrubs! (Also helpful to note: you don’t need to change it month-to-month, it recommends being replaced every 12 months.)
Website description:
Say G’day to ultra smooth skin and goodbye to dull, flakey skin. Introducing Exfolimate ™ – the ultimate tool to give you younger, fresher looking and feeling skin.
Designed in Australia – Exfolimate is your handy mate to instant exfoliation and pore clarification without the fuss of scrubs and loofahs that only rub the surface of your skin without actually removing the problem.
The secret is Exfolimate’s innovative micro-groove technology etched into the smooth metal edge. The micro-grooves gently lift and remove lingering skin cells and debris to unveil younger, fresher skin.
Exfolimate is made to gently exfoliate the face and body and is precision designed for daily exfoliation and naturally skin clearing results.
Exfolimate transforms the surface of your skin.

To be honest I was a bit skeptical at first. I wondered how the Exfolimate would do in actually exfoliating my skin versus a facial scrub or my loofah. I followed the instructions… I allowed myself to be in the shower a bit to allow the steam & warm water soften the surface of my skin, prepping it for the process of exfoliation. I used the Exfolimate Face exfoliator at a 90-degree angle and in upward motions, methodically going across my skin and mentally trying to figure out if I covered every inch. (An in-shower mirror would have been helpful for this.) When I was finished, I looked at the edge. I didn’t really see any debris so I wasn’t sure if I did it right. I then felt my skin with my fingers–to the touch, not much felt different. It wasn’t until I got out and used the towel to gently rub my face dry that I realized I definitely used it right! Let’s just say I didn’t realize how much dead skin I had until I witnessed it start sloughing away. (TMI?) Within the first use the Exfolimate had already exfoliated better than any exfoliating scrub I had used before. I was impressed, to say the least!
I have also used the Exfolimate Body exfoliator. This proves to be a bit more time consuming if you are trying to cover every inch of your body. (The loofah has the upper hand when it comes to the time factor.) I did the same process–drag it across the skin (not with too much pressure, of course) at a 90 degree angle. I have used it all over  but think I prefer to use it most on my legs and arms. I haven’t used it every time I shower, though, because it takes a little extra time (would be great to use in a bath!) so when I am rushed I still grab for my loofah. But, if I am not trying to get out the door, I use this prior to shaving and I have noticed after multiple uses my skin is softer.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Exfolimate. It is unlike any other beauty tool that I own, but I find myself reaching for the Face one regularly (every time I shower now) and the Body one when I have some extra time to spare. Plus, I love that I don’t have to replace them for a whole entire year! What do you think of the Exfolimate?

DIY HAIR CARE FOR DRY HAIR MASKS

Is your hair dry, damaged and withering away? Are you looking for all-natural easy hair treatments to liven up your dull locks? Using totally simple ingredients that you can quickly fetch from your kitchen, you can create amazing hair masks to bounce your dry hair back to life! Let's look at 3 easy peasy hair masks you can make at home:

1. Moisturizing Hair Mask for Dry Hair

Using just two kitchen ingredients, you can whip up a nourishing hair mask that will feed your dry hair with vitamins and healthy fat, transforming it into a silky mass of lustre. Coconut oil is well known for its wonderful hair moisturizing and conditioning properties. Honey is the all ancient cure for many common ailments including dry flaking skin and it will work wonders for dry damaged hair! Here's a quick look at the benefits the ingredients in this hair mask provide for dry hair:
Ingredient
Benefit for Hair
Coconut oil
A powerhouse of antioxidants and vitamins. Contains antiseptic fatty acids that guard the scalp against acne andfungal infections. Nourishes hair roots. Prevents dandruff and heals itchy scalpissues. Soothes painful scalp. Conditions and moisturizes hair. Softens and smoothens dry hair locks. Tames wild frizzy dry hair. Protects hair from split end damage.
Honey
Rich in powerful vitamins and minerals. Great moisturizer. Natural humectant. Locks moisture into dry hair strands. Nourishes sun damaged dry hair. Deep conditions hair. Softens dry hair. Contains anti bacterial and antioxidant properties that keep your scalp healthy and promote hair growth. Leaves your tresses looking shiny and bouncy.

Useful Tips:

Wet your hair. It's easier applying the hair mask to damp hair. You can also simply apply coconut oil alone to your dry hair strands without adding honey and wash off.
Always use organic. When making this hair mask, use extra virgin coconut oil and pure honey for best results. Pure coconut oil will be easier for your hair to absorb.
How often? Since it's an all natural hair mask, you can use this as often as you want. Once a week is good for dry and normal hair. Take care not to add a lot of coconut oil - just a table spoon will do for long hair (mid back length). If you have short (shoulder length) hair, you can use 1 teaspoon.
Long/short hair. You can always add more/less teaspoons of some ingredients if you have longer/shorter hair.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 2 teaspoons honey
In a mixing bowl, add in the above ingredients and stir well till you get a thick mixture. And voila, you're hair mask is ready to use! Yes, it is that simple!
When applying the hair mask, use clean fingers and slather the mixture into your scalp first. Use a circular motion to massage the mask into your scalp gently. Work coming downwards from your scalp to your locks.
After the application, you can sit with a warm towel on wrapped around your head to open up your hair follicles so that all the goodness of the hair mask can sink in. After 15-30 minutes, rinse off your hair. You don't even need to condition your hair as coconut oil is one of the conditioners!

2. Nourishing Hair Mask for Dry hair

This nourishing hair mask also needs just two kitchen ingredients - egg and olive oil. Eggs are rich in protein, vitamins and fat - all of these being very nutritious to nurse dry hair back to its shiny lustre. Olive oil is one of the best nourishing and moisturizing oils for dry hair treatment. Let's look at the in-depth benefits of these ingredients for dry hair:
Ingredients
Benefit for Hair
Egg Yolk
Loaded with b-vitamins and healthy fat. Very nourishing for dry hair. Nourishes, lubricates and waters dry damaged hair. Strengthens hair follicles and roots. Reivtalizes dry hair. Softness hair and transforms dry hair into silky locks. Deep conditions hair. Prevents hair loss.
Olive Oil
Hair mask ingredient used since ancient times. Moisturizes and nourishes hair. Rich in vitamin E and healthy fat. Hydrates dry brittle hair and strengthens hair strands, preventing breakage.

Tips:

Rinse with only cold to tepid water.Make sure to use cold to tepid water to rinse especially for this hair mask. Using hot water to rinse off this olive oil and egg hair mask can leave you with cooked bits of egg in your hair.
Rinse, rinse and rinse. Rinse your hair thoroughly as many times as possible to remove the hair mask completely from your hair. Use an organic shampoo to wash it off and give a final rinse.
Massage your scalp. Give your scalp a soothing massage as you apply the hair mask. This will stimulate blood flow to your scalp, promoting a healthy scalp and luscious long hair locks.
Ingredients:
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
Directions:
Whisk the egg yolk in a small mixing bowl till it turns frothy. Add in 1 tablespoon of olive oil and mix well. Using clean fingers, apply the hair mask onto your scalp first. Massage the hair mask into your scalp in a gentle circular motion for about 1 to 2 minutes. Cover your hair with a disposable shower cap/plastic bag. Sit for 15 minutes. When the time is up, rinse your hair thoroughly with cold water. Please do not use hot water. Use an organic shampoo to remove the egg smells from your hair. Give your hair a final rinse and condition as usual.

3. Hydrating Hair Mask for Dry hair

Lock moisture into your hair cells with an amazing avocado and banana hair mask. This hydrating hair mask will definitely rejuvenate your dull dry hair. You will be astonished to see how fast your dry locks spring back to their original lustre. What's more is that this hair mask doesn't stink at all! All you need is avocado and banana. Sounds yummy, doesn't it? Let's first discover the importance of these two ingredients for dry hair and hair in general:
Ingredient
Benefit for hair
Avocado
Contains vitamins A, E D, b-vitamins, healthy fat and natural oils. Adds shine and lustre to dry hair. Prevents hair loss. Nourishes hair promoting hair growth. Guards against hair breakage and split ends. Revitalizes dry hair, softening and moisturizing it.
Banana
Loaded with vitamins, potassium, antioxidants and moisture, banana works wonders for dry brittle hair. Strengthens hair follicles. Prevents split ends and hair breakage. Maintains natural hair elasticity. Controls hair oil production. Promotes healthy hair and scalp.

Tips:

Place a towel around your neck. Wrap a soft cotton towel around your neck to protect your clothes from this hair mask.
From top to bottom. Work the hair mask from your scalp to the tips of your hair. Slather a generous amount of the hair mask onto you hair ends, where most damage occurs.
Relax yourself. As the hair mask works its magic, you can relax your mind by reading a book, meditating or even pampering your nails with a lovely manicure.
Sticky/oily hair mask. Don't over proportionate the amount of teaspoons or table spoons of ingredients you need to put in your hair mask. For example: Adding too much honey can make a very sticky hair mask which you'll spend a long time trying to remove. Also, using a lot of coconut/olive oil can give you greasy hair which is also hard to rinse off.
Ingredients:
1/2 ripe avocado
2 ripe bananas
Directions:
Puree the above ingredients in a food processor until it turns thick and is absolutely lump free. This is important - make sure the hair mask is very smooth with no chunks whatsoever. It can be a big pain trying to comb out dry banana/avocado bits from your hair! As usual, using clean fingers, apply the mixture to your damp hair from the hair roots to the ends. Cover your hair with a plastic shower cap. Wait for 15 minutes. Rinse your hair thoroughly. Take your time rinsing, ensuring the whole mask is off. This hair mask smells great and you don't even need to shampoo your hair.

Bath Pillow - Luxury Spa Bath Pillow with Heavy Duty Suction Cups.

The first thing I did was secure the pillow where we all would normally put a bath pillow. Yeah, wasn't working so much. So I thought, okay well I will use it like the picture shows. I cannot believe how comfortable that is. And before you think I am talking frivolously here, think about it. When your head is upright, you are not really relaxing...you are still using muscle to hold your head up in order to relax. That still in turn uses your shoulders. Think about soaking but with your neck\head slightly back, just back enough where you do not have to hold it up. You can just let go, and doze. I personally found it incredibly comfortable. Which goes to show, don't judge a book by its cover! I never had a good experience with bath mats or pillows to make my bath relaxing until this pillow arrived. I thought it was very small at first sight. It was a perfect size. And fit my big head and helped me to relaxing with comfort and without using my muscles to hold myself or the pillow up.It wasn't so big that it touched my shoulders, my head didn't fall off the pillow, I just layed my head back and closed my eyes.

Also, another great thing is how well it is made with a soft foam. This is extremely well made, durable but still soft enough for comfort. When I moved it from the first position of the tub to the top of the top, the first thing I did was pull the suction plugs right off the product. I thought oh great, I just broke it. Nope...I just plugged them back in, they give you a little snap and you are good to go. The holes that hold the suction plugs are reinforced, so there shouldn't be any tearing or ripping for the life of the product. If you pull one out, no biggie just pop it back in. Great design! My husband loves it also and takes a bath just to use the pillow.I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Luxe Home Essentials Microfiber Kitchen Dish Towels

First things first you NEVER have to many kitchen towels. When I cook I need a towel for the kettle on the stove, the pan I have in the oven, and everything else I am moving around while cooking.

I have had microfiber towels before and I didn't like them. They normally are very stiff and coarse & are definitely NOT absorbent.
That is NOT the case with these. They are so soft and absorbent.

I love the size of these towels - as you can see it is as big as my lap table & actually hangs over a little. Perfect size for all that you need it to do.

Plus they look awesome in my kitchen on my stove. To order your very own set head on over toamazon & order here:

Plus I have worked with this company before and they are truly awesome and very easy to work with.

Magnetic Screen Door by iGotTech

#magneticscreendoor

ORDER NOW ON AMAZON

I have thought about how useful one of these could be at our house for quite some time now.  When I had the chance to review iGotTech magnetic screen door I jumped at the chance.  This product is great for keeping unwanted bugs out while allowing you to leave a door open that does not normally have a screen.  It does have an easy access to use as a door to get in and out of easily.  I felt like this was a great product but this product was not a one size fits all kind of product.  There may have been another one we could have gotten that fit our specific door a little better, but this one works just fine for what we needed it for.  I think is designed to be used solely on regular standard size doors.  The door we needed it for was a french door therefore making it not a standard size door.  With that being said, the product overall is a great product.  It fits the purpose that it is intended for.  As you can see we had to overlap it a little just to make it work for what we needed.  It is also very long so it drags on the ground a little.  Like I stated previous I think it would work wonderfully on a regular sized door.  The quality of the product was great.  I also appreciate the price of this product!!  It sure beats going to the local home improvement store and buying a very expensive screen door especially if you don't want it up all year long or just want it for temporary purposes.
